Bobcat Mountain Lodge Bed and Breakfast - Red River, New Mexico

Bobcat Mountain Lodge is located approximately three miles East of Red River, New Mexico. The Lodge is situated on a quiet, secluded three acres, at an elevation of 10,000 feet Northwest of Bobcat Pass, North of the Enchanted Cross Country Ski area. The Lodge property adjoins the Carson National Forest to the west. Our deck offers a million dollar view to the South of snow-capped mountains of 11-12,000 feet including New Mexico’s highest mountain, Wheeler Peak, elevation 13,161 feet.

Wildlife is abundant winter and summer. Our guests have spotted deer, elk, turkey, an occasional bear, and many small animals and birds, including hummingbirds, chipmunks and ground squirrels in the summer. When you are ready for a little action, Red River is just three miles west. Winter fun in “Red River – Ski Town of the Southwest” includes skiing and snowboarding.

Memorial Day brings the bikers (20,000+ of them) with their Harleys, summer continues with Fourth July Parade and Celebration where kids and grownups (wanta-be kids) can catch enough candy to make any tummy rumble, and finally, Aspencade with the beautiful fall color winds up the summer. Red River celebrates every occasion and creates some! Red River has plenty of shopping and restaurants or just take a stroll down main street to “see” and “be seen.” When you’ve “seen it all” and “done it all” come back to The Lodge for a little down time and a good quiet night’s rest. Enjoy a Lodge provided continental breakfast in the morning, then, take off to see the rest of the Enchanted Circle, Taos, Eagle Nest Lake, Angel Fire, returning to the comfort of The Lodge.

The Lodge is decorated as a high mountain hunting lodge. Mounts of deer, mountain lion, wolf, and moose adorn one wall in the common room (hopefully an elk mount soon!) Bedrooms are decorated in wildlife motif. The deck has tables and chairs to sit and enjoy the view and a beverage. Long day?….Bring your suit and enjoy our muscle relaxing hot tub under the stars! (installed this year)

Lodge Rental – “Whole Lodge Reservations” The Lodge is family oriented. The Lodge is large enough for small weddings and “whole” family gatherings for holidays and special occasions. “Whole house reservations” must be made early. Maximum nightly occupancy sixteen. Individual Room Reservations: We also rent individual rooms with a continental breakfast as a B & B. Each room has a TV/DVD player and refrigerator. We welcome couples and families to enjoy the Lodge and its beautiful views of the Rockies. This is an opportunity to check out the Lodge then bring the whole family back for a holiday or special occasion.

The Lodge has three levels:

Lower Level has one extra large bedroom (Bedroom 1 – The Bobcat’s Den) and one large bedroom (Bedroom 2 – The Buffalo Room) with one bathroom to share. The Bobcat’s Den has one king-size bed, two twin beds and one full-size bed. Perfect for a family of six. The Buffalo Room has one king-size bed with a sofa hide-a-bed. These two bedrooms are great for two families vacationing together.

Buffalo Room

Mid-level has the kitchen where continental breakfast is served, and the deck with the million dollar view just outside. Mid-level has two bedrooms. The owners occupy one of the bedrooms (The Fishing Room) on this level. The large bedroom (Bedroom 4 – The Elk’s Bugle) has a king-size bed with easy access (one step down) to the breakfast area, common area and deck. The Elk’s Bugle uses an unshared bathroom with tub and shower across the hall.

High-level has one bedroom (Bedroom 3 – The Eagle’s Nest) with a king-size bed, private bathroom with separate shower and tub. The Eagle’s Nest is quiet, secluded from the rest of the house with a beautiful view of the mountains and sunrise while enjoying privacy.

Four-wheel drive vehicles are a must in the winter. You will be staying at an elevation of 10,000 feet.
